Katie Hill

Work Experience
A proven entrepreneur and executive leader, Katie is focused on growing organizations and developing solutions with talented, high-achieving teams. As the Co-Founder and former CEO of Dayton-based CommuterAds, a first-to-market digital transit media company that was launched at the Entrepreneurs’ Center, she knows the ins and outs of the local startup scene. She secured over $2 million in growth capital from angels and institutional investors, including venture capital funds, and scaled the company from single-market proof-of-concept to 14 cities and seven-figure annual revenue while decreasing burn by 50%. The company was also awarded a patent for the “method and device for increasing advertising revenue on public transit systems via transit scheduler and enunciator systems,” significant attainment for the firm as well as for the city of Dayton.

Earlier in her career, Katie was a Technology Development Manager at Leo Burnett in Chicago, where she managed dozens of client relationships for technical and data teams at Fortune 10 highly regulated consumer packaged goods (CPG) clients in the U.S. and Latin America. Currently, in addition to being an EIR and pursuing her own entrepreneurial ventures, she is an Adjunct Faculty Instructor for the University of Dayton.

Katie is a born self-starter with a proven ability to drive innovation and execute new ideas. She has extensive experience in client service, business operations, business development, strategy, analytics, technology, program management, training, communications, media, and P&L management in both corporate and entrepreneurial environments. She is a trusted startup coach and advisor who offers authentic guidance and perspective rooted in first-hand experience of the trials and triumphs of entrepreneurship. Also good for a shoulder to cry on, a kick in the rear, or a standing ovation, as needed.
